Car Nation

I didn’t make it to the 16th Annual Classic Car Show on State Street in Madison earlier this month. So, since I didn’t get to see their “wonderful array of vintage cars,” I thought I would just dig out some old photos of cars that I’ve taken over the years.

When you’re in Germany it’s nice to know that to ride in a Mercedes you just have to call a cab. To ride in a BMW you just have to commit a crime! No big down payments required.

If you never know which way to go, you might want to get a nice Toronado like this!

If you want a car with a real musical horn just head over to Willy Street.

For that nice wide ride you might want this great old Chevy.

In the days before power steering you needed a big steering wheel to get all the torque you needed.

Who could forget the Studebaker?

If you can’t afford a bumper sticker you can still get your message across.

How about some odds and ends? Hover to read the captions and click to enlarge.

And finally, always remember these words of wisdom:

Never lend your car to anyone to whom you have given birth.” – Erma Bombeck

“If you own a home with wheels on it and several cars without, you just might be a redneck.” – Jeff Foxworthy
