Most of you probably know that my latest photography exhibit is up at the PhotoMidwest (PMW) Gallery, located at 700 Ray-O-Vac Drive, Suite 212, in Madison. It’s called …

… and you can see the online version on the PhotoMidwest Website. Obviously, I think it’s nice to see photographs on websites. After all, I have thousands of them on this website. But I think that viewing a print is the ideal way to experience a photograph.
The PMW Gallery is only officially open on Saturdays from Noon – 4 PM. My exhibit has been up since June 28 and the last day that you can “officially” see it is this Saturday, August 23. However, since I know the secret handshake, I could get anyone in to see it for a personal showing any day and time through Thursday, August 28. So, if you are interested in seeing the real printed, mounted, matted and framed photographs hanging on the walls of a gallery, let me know before then and I’ll be glad to give you a personal private tour.

Meanwhile, back to the main point of this post.
When I started to collect possible candidates for use in this black-and-white exhibit, I thought it would be fun to dig back through all of my photographs dating back to ~1970. Now, honestly, I would have had neither the time nor the patience to dig through all of those contact sheets, color slides, and digital files. Instead, I tried to look through certain years or events that stood out in my memory. As a result, although my goal was to find about 25 photos for my exhibit, I pulled out about 75. Since I could only show 38 photos in the gallery, I thought I would show some of those photos that did not make the walls of the PMW Gallery.
